[Sep 2024] Performance & Stability Improvements

Last month we sent a survey asking you what improvements you'd like to see and y'all really delivered with the feedback! One message came through loud and clear — you want us to focus on performance and stability.

Board Failures

The rate of board load failures dropped from around 25,000/day to 2,000/day after our changes were deployed on Aug 19.

App Load Times

We dropped the average load time of both the board and issue page from around a 6 sec average load time, to 4.4 sec.

Early results of our new architecture are showing further improvements of around 40-50%.

Slow Issue Page Loads

Issue pages now load 2-4x faster. For one of our own teams it cut the average time from 1.5 seconds to 250ms.

Daily Feed Optimization

In August, we made several query and database optimizations that improved the load time of the Daily Feed by 33%.
