How do I track my individual work and tasks?

Stay organized with My Work's personalized dashboard showing your current assignments, recent activity, and blockers

My Work provides a personalized view of your individual tasks and activities within your current workspace. The dashboard organizes your work into clear sections, helping you understand what you've completed recently, what you're currently working on, and what might be blocking your progress.

Accessing My Work

Click "My Work" in the left sidebar to access your personal dashboard. My Work automatically syncs with your GitHub activity and Zenhub assignments, displaying real-time information without requiring manual updates.

Understanding the four sections

My Work displays four sections that organize your work activity. Empty sections appear greyed out until they contain relevant items.

Recently completed work

Shows your completed work from the last few days, including closed issues and merged pull requests. This section helps you track recent accomplishments and provides context for daily standups or progress reporting.

Working on

Displays all issues and pull requests currently assigned to you within the workspace. Items show relevant context like story point estimates, labels, and current pipeline status. Special tags highlight when tasks need estimates or are awaiting your review.

Blocked

Highlights issues that might be preventing your progress, including work where you're waiting for code reviews or items that have dependencies on other team members. This section helps you identify bottlenecks and follow up on stuck items.

Mentions

Shows recent mentions of you in comments, discussions, or issue updates within the workspace, helping you stay aware of conversations that require your input.

Filtering your view

My Work includes pipeline filtering to help you focus on specific workflow stages. The "In progress pipelines" filter at the top right lets you specify which pipelines should be considered active work, allowing you to customize what appears in your "Working on" section based on your team's process.

NOTE: My Work shows only your assignments within the current workspace. To see work from other workspaces, you'll need to switch workspaces using the workspace selector.

Using My Work for daily planning

Start each day by reviewing your My Work dashboard to understand your current priorities and any new assignments. The "Working on" section shows which tasks you can focus on, while the "Blocked" section helps you identify items that need follow-up with team members.

Use the "Recently completed work" section during daily standup meetings to quickly summarize your recent contributions. The clear organization eliminates the need to manually track accomplishments or search through multiple repositories.

Troubleshooting My Work issues

If expected work isn't appearing in My Work, first verify that you're properly assigned to the relevant issues in GitHub or Zenhub. My Work only displays items where you're explicitly listed as an assignee, so work you're involved with but not officially assigned won't appear.

Check your repository permissions if you're missing work from specific projects. My Work respects the same access controls as the rest of Zenhub, so issues from repositories you can't access won't be displayed even if you're assigned to them.

For performance issues with My Work loading slowly, try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache. The dashboard relies on real-time data syncing, and occasionally network issues can cause temporary display problems.
